Good Day!

My EP3 bucket finally arrived!
It was small as I suspected...D*mn...
(FYI Im wearing a DL TI bucket as it fits me like a glooves)

I found the bucket 'INNER CHEEK' area is too small.
It was stuck at my forehead when I tried putting on.

I read some of the members would do a 'FACE OFF' design by
removing the faceplate. But I was thinking to trim the inner part of the bucket
OR any other alternatives?

What do u think, guys?

I will POST some pics by this wkend.

Cheers!

I had the same problem with my E3 bucket. I was able to trim the underside and shave away some of the cheek mat. from the inside and it fits great now. I myself was not to keen on the face off method in fear that it would weeken the bucket all together. Just my two cents.

i went with shaving the cheeks down on my first bucket and i went to deep and the cheeks cracked and broke. the face off is more complicated but definitely lets you not have to worry about that.

just my two imperial credits

Some folks cut off the back too, it's all a matter of preference. If you store the bucket all snapped together, you should be ok.

take some wet leather strips and wrap them around your head and when the leather dries, it should shrink a little and just pull your head with it so that it will fit... just joking... I remember seeing a anime that had some guy who had to wear belts on his head after some freakish fight that caused it to swell...

I actually have nothing helpful to add to the thread. sorry sad.gif

I am just getting into my very first experience working with any sort of armor whatsoever, and because of my freakishly massive melon-head I couldn't fit inside my bucket I elected to use the "face-off" method. Believe me when I say it was extremely tedious to cut the facemask off, but I used a dozen rare-earth magnets to hold it in place. Here's where I put them:

Not that I recommend it, but I can hold it by the cheeks and even swing it (slightly) and it's solid.

Here's the bucket from the sides--most people tend to cut in front of the "ears", but I went around behind. I got the idea from Torment, and I really, really like it. The cut is almost invisible:

Here's the cut:

I'd MUCH rather work this way than trying to grind material off the inside of the cheeks, but that may be just because I still don't play well with Bondo if I grind off too much!

Glad to be of service. Pay particular attention to the way Torment cuts around the "ears"--I messed up on one side and had to do a lot of patching to get it right. Check out Torment's WIP--it's really thorough. If you have any other questions feel free to PM me, but there are plenty of other people on the boards who've been doing this far longer (and far better).

Looking forward to the pics!
