Howdy, everyone! I'm Dave. 28 years old and currently reside in San Antonio, Texas, as I am active duty Air Force stationed at Lackland AFB. I've been a huge Star Wars fan since I was a kid. (haven't we all?) I've had art classes in school pretty much all the way through high school. I don't get much time to draw or paint anymore, so I started to piddle around with photography, starting a couple years ago. It's just easier for me to produce a photograph that I like than it is an actual work of art. For now, anyways.
I'm originally from Melbourne, Florida. About an hour-ish away from Orlando. My brother just moved from Orlando to Denver, CO. He's into Star Wars, too, but he won't openly admit it like I will, with a childish grin.
I have a friend in the 501st, who has inspired me to look into joining and creating a costume for myself. I've been dreaming over my own armor for a long time, but never knew how to go about purchasing a set or creating my own. Especially the helmets. That said, I'm VERY excited to be here and learn what I can and looking forward to joining CT.N and the 501st.
I know I want to end up with a Clone Trooper armor set, but I'm still undecided on which one. There are just so many from Ep III that I'd like to have! Hopefully, with the resources here, I'll be able to make a decision.
Glad to be here!
-Dave

Hey all,new here, wanna start making a suit later this year
will ask a few questions from now and then, got one now actually
dont get mad if i ask you this and yes i do research, etc but seeing all these kits for sale then seeing how ppl put them together, i dont see how you can put on the shin pieces or arm pieces (or any other tight piece) if their attached like that by glue, etc or are hey somehow attached to velcro on the inside?
Are all pieces attached the same or are only some attached differently?
Again sorry for the nub question

Su'cuy, Vode!
My name's Bruce and I'm in the Kansas City area, gearing up to eventually join the Legion. I've made a few posts here and there but felt it was past time to officially introduce myself. I'm 38 and a photographer and martial arts instructor; been into SW since I was five and saw ANH in the theatre with the family.
I've wanted to get into trooping for some time and tried back in '04, but without having done proper research, I fell into the StarFortress Productions trap. 'Nuff said as I'm sure you've all heard plenty of horror stories about them.
As far as what I plan on getting out of CTN? LOTS of assistance!!! I'm planning on doing Delta-07 and have never really done any plastics work. I've done armoring in the SCA so I understand the strapping and placement, et al. but haven't done plastics/bondo/etc work. I've already PM'd Foo a couple times and I'm sure he, RKD and some others will be hearing from me rather a lot when the kit finally arrives.

Here is a completely random question. I wear glasses. Will this be an issue when wearing the bucket for a clone troop, and should I seriously consider contact lenses?

Hey GG, I'm someone can give a more difinitive answer, but I tried on a helm at Celebrations and I had to take my glasses off to get the thing on my head. I was able to put them on once the bucket was in place. I'm guessing the one I tried still had the plastic neck ring in place.

I think I was just looking for an excuse to go back to contacts

I do have the faceplate mod which makes it easy - instead of cutting the neck ring out from around the bottom of the bucket, the face portion is cut out and re-attached using magnets. It's a great little modification and makes it less of a hassle to put on/take off.

Hey everyone, I'm Bryan, active duty in the USN and stationed in Key West for now, but wont be stationed here much longer so I'm not claiming any area as of yet till i know where my next duty will be! Originally I hail from Greensboro NC though.
Born into SW fandom, guess its in my genetics, and been army building clones ever since ROTS, something really spoke to me when I watched, read, and learned of all the different Clone Battalions and specialty armors (that the TKs lack) and I could identify with my Military experiences and "job titles" and Ranks.
I do a lot of auto repair and body work and friends have asked why I don't have armor, its just like making my custom clone figures, on a larger scale... but I know big guys have trouble pulling off the clone armor and stick to TBs and TIs... so at 6ft 250lbs I had to loose some weight, I dropped 30 lbs and after seeing Jason Rucci's Panel on Clone Armor at C5, I feel comfortable. (Thanx Jason)
I love to travel in my Imperial decked out '07 Fj Cruiser, or '66 Bronco with Republic Cogs on it, so I cant wait to take some time off and travel around, troop and meet more people!
REALLY want to get started on the ARC Heavy Gunner armor using the "large" Unleashed statue as Ref (not cartoon). but I know this isn't a recognized armor....? we need to change that! but the plan is to do the standard ARC with an extra AT-RT helmet! I saw a guy at C5 wearing the armor and my jaw dropped! After I get that behind me I would like to do CC Bacara, that is between all my other projects I have going on....
OK, so whats next!? I do have a TK helmet and like the feel of it... but the Grand Army of the Republic is were I belong!

I have a TK AM armour which i built earlier on this year. I have just completed a AP bucket to go with it as i got sick of the oversized AM/ FX bucket that came with the kit.
I am looking at doing a animated clone which i have just ordered some WCA . Iaam not sure of which charector to do as yet but am open for suggestions. I look the look of a animated Gree.
